Within a 10-15-minute drive, the popular North Coast beaches invite you in for a refreshing swim. Here the water is fantastically clear and turquoise blue.
The best known are Tsábou, Tsamadoú and Lemonákia. Many more beaches, including sandy beaches, can be found in the east and south of the island.
On centuries-old paths we go through vineyards, olive groves and pine forests, »like walking the bible« as a friend said. You reach small, original mountain villages whose taverns invite you to take a rest, cross streams and descend into secluded bays. The trails are increasingly well marked and equipped with GPS. There are reliable maps on site.
Also wonderful are mountain bike tours, over rugged heights or from village to village. Bike rental is available in Kokkári.
A well-equipped surfing station with a surfing school is also located in Kokkári.
Of course, the Aegean Sea and the island of Sámos with their idyllic bays are also a paradise for sailors and divers.
Two archaeological museums in Vathí and Pythagório bear witness to the 6th and 5th centuries BC when Sámos experienced its heyday as an important centre of Greek culture. There are several archeological sites, including the Heraion, the island’s most important ancient sanctuary, dedicated to the goddess Hera. Other attractions include the Eupalinas Tunnel and numerous Byzantine Orthodox churches and monasteries.
There are offerings for day trips to the Turkish coast to the lively resort of Kusadasi with a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus and the neighbouring island of Pátmos, the island of the Apocalypse with the Monastery of St. John and the beautiful old town of Chóra.
After the renovation of Levánda in 2014, we also acquired a neighboring olive grove in Vourliótes in 2017. Here we have since built our new residence and a bungalow for guests – in modern architecture and harmoniously integrated into the old cultural landscape.
Also in the olive grove is an old Kalívi, Silvia’s studio. She is a freelance artist in the field of sculpture, drawing and photography. Her abstract art explores original forms and structures of nature and architecture.

We would like to maintain our olive grove with 200 trees and preserve it as an original cultural landscape. Our goal is to produce organic olive oil of the highest quality and taste. We are happy to show our guests the harvest of olives and the care of the olive trees, the oldest cultivated plant in the world.
